Supplies:
2 skeins Rowan Silk Wool
1 set 3.75 mm double pointed needles
Crochet Fake Picot Cast On:
This is a modified Crochet Cast on to add bumps kinda like a picot edging.
(Note: Crochet cast on is like creating a crochet chain with the knitting needle in the way)
Use 1 needle and a similar sized crochet hook
Make a slip knot, put it on the crochet hook
*Bring the working yarn around the knitting needle (creating one stitch), then catch the working yarn with the crochet hook, and bring the loop through the loop on the crochet hook (one stitch made)
After 3 stitches are created on the knitting needle, crochet chain 3. Repeat from * until all stitches are cast on.
Crochet Fake Picot Cast Off:
Using a crochet hook of a similar size to your knitting needle:
*Insert hook into first stitch as if to knit and draw one loop through, drop stitch off knitting needle. (1 stitch on crochet hook_
Insert hook into second stitch as if to knit and draw one loop through, drop stitch off knitting needle. (2 stitches on crochet hook)
Crochet through 2 stitches on crochet hook
After 3 stitches are cast off, chain 3, repeat from *
Reversible lace in the round:
Row 1: *P3, k1, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1, repeat from *
Row 2: *P3, K5 repeat from *
CO 40 stitches using Crochet Fake Picot Cast On
Wrist:
Knit using Reversible Lace in the Round:
Row 1: *P3, k1, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1, repeat from *
Row 2: *P3, K5 repeat from *
Repeat 13 more times for 14 repeats (28 rows), or until your desired length to the base of the thumb.
Thumb Gusset:
At the beginning of row 29, start the thumb gusset increases:
Row 29: In the first column of purl stitches, increase 1 stitch on each side (on the first row of gusset increases, there will be 5 stitches.)
Knit the rest of the round as written. (or: p1, m1, p1, m1, p1, k1, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1, *P3, k1, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1, repeat from *)
Row 30: : P5, K5, *P3, K5 repeat from *
Increase 1 stitch on each side of the gusset every odd numbered row. Repeat until there are 17 stitches in the thumb. (13 rows)

Repeat these two rows 7 more times. Bind off using Crochet Fake Picot Cast Off.
Thumb:
Put 17 held stitches on 3 needles. Pick up 3 more stitches on cast on stitches at base of hand. Purl 14 rows, cast off loosely.
